Exciting Weekend

We thought you might enjoy a little recap of our weekend... (if you aren't interested, just don't read it!)

Anyhow, early Saturday morning we got a call from our apartment managers office. She so kindly informed us that our car had been hit and wanted to make sure we were aware of the situation and file a police report, if necessary. So we thought we should take a look at the damage. Thankfully in the few minutes from the first phone call and looking at the car, a young lady stopped by the office to find out whose car she hit the night before (and give us her insurance information). She was driving home from work (on the far east side of El Paso) and must have shut her eyes just for a moment as she turned into the apt complex. We felt bad from her as she was just a few feet from her home, but are very thankful for how she handled the situation!

At our first look of the car, it seemed that she side swiped it pretty rough and pushed it about a foot up onto the curb. After calling her insurance (we weren't sure if we should move it before calling), Phil attempted to move the car to no avail. We aren't sure what is all wrong (suspension/transmission, etc) but the car is stuck there until the insurance guy comes this week. At this point we have no idea if it will be totaled, or repairable - either way, it's slightly disappointing that we have paid about $500 in repairs in it over the past two months, but this vehicle has been quite the money pit, so this may just be a blessing in disguise. (Sorry, I'll post some fun pictures soon!)

Ok - now for the more interesting part! A few of our amazing friends, Jon & Tess, treated us to Koze Teppan Grill last night, as an early birthday present for Phil. Maybe we are the only people in the world who are not familiar with a Teppan Grill, but I will say that now that we have tried it, we love it and would HIGHLY recommend it! Delicious fried rice with fresh veggies, seafood, steak, shrimp - all cooked right at our table. YUMMY! Phil even tried calamari and mushrooms and LOVED them both! He even said I could start cooking with mushrooms, which is an AMAZING breakthrough, though I'm not sure I can recreate the tastes from last night. We'll see...

To top off an interesting weekend, we are really looking forward to seeing alot of our family in the next two weeks. The Wisconsin Silers, along with the Evers are heading our direction on Friday. Then the following weekend we are headed to Oregon to spend some time with Ray, Kel & Hadley and Steve & Kari! Can't wait to see you all!!!

The car thing is insane! I had my car sideswiped and nobody left any notes or made any calls or anything. You guys are pretty blessed! Hope it all works out! We'll be praying for you. I heard about mom & dad's washing machine fiasco. I hope we're note next for a crazy thing to happen! Love you!
