This is what happens when you have writer's block

I love the new pepsi commercial with Bob Dylan and Wyclef Jean singing forever young. It's a great example of no matter how everything changes it really stays the same. Sort of like the concept of spending a ton of money to fix your money problem never works. Or that giving poor people money and not sustainable resources will only lead to increased alcohol and cigarette sales... which equals wealthier, wealthy people. Or that politicians are politicians even if they have a halo painted on them by the media.

Don't get me wrong I like the savior and I was charmed by his silver tongue but are we really following the advice of a early 1900's fruitcake (Keynes),who said about his economic theory,"the theory of aggregated production, which is the point of the following book, nevertheless can be much easier adapted to the conditions of a totalitarian state than the theory of production and distribution of a given production put forth under conditions of free competition and a large degree of laissez-faire."

Ummm...hello...America are you there??? We are the latter mentioned economic system or at least we used to be. I used to think some of the Republican honks who screamed,"SOCIALIST" at Mr. President's economic plans were egalitarian, close-minded, Palinists. I still don't want to be labeled part of this new wave Republican party that endorses freebies to irresponsibly managed corporations but maybe they were on to something.

How did we, a nation founded on the principles of the protestant work ethic where hard work=success, get to, I still have one credit card to max out before I can declare bankruptcy and bail on all who I owe money to. Why are we bailing out companies that have failed based on greed and irresponsibility? Why do our current bankruptcy laws, and other laws at that, allow people and companies to disavow all personal responsibility. We need to change these schemas that promote irresponsibilty and return to the principles that have made our nation the economic beast it is.

Competition promotes lower prices, ingenuity and fiscal responsibitly these are principles of a free market system in which companies that fail to compete are replaced by those who are more willing or able to run a successful business. Yes, there will ebbs and flows in the economic cycle but when these ebbs occur the response of our nation, not just our government should be to tighten our belts, manage our money wisely and ,heaven forbid, to wait until we can afford something before buying it. We need to reverse the trend of the following chart or we will be the ones manufacturing Chinese designed toys with lead based paint. I don't think this will get any better with the new administration.

Great visual aids. You are most definitely a teacher. :) I completely agree with you, but I am neither for Republicans nor Democrats since they have both shown their utter irresponsibility over the past couple of terms. The great American public has become the wicked stepmother of the world defined by unquenchable greed, wide-eyed(chosen)ignorance, and ever increasing moral failure. We say "God Bless America" while we curse ourselves. It's a long way back to Cinderella. Nigh on impossible. We need a savior, namely Jesus Christ. Even so, come, Lord Jesus, come.
