Thanksgiving in San Diego!

Hello!

Just a little update from El Paso... last weekend, over Thanksgiving, we headed east with Jon & Tess to San Diego. We had a great time visiting lots of exciting places with my (Patty's) parents and we hope they were able to relax and enjoy the vacation too (though we did keep them pretty busy!). Between the Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park, Seaport village, History museum and more, we filled our days very quickly! We also had a great time with Brian & Kelly Jung and are very thankful for their hospitality!

Upon returning from sunny San Diego, we were greeted with SNOW - YES REAL SNOW in El Paso IN NOVEMBER!!! What kind of joke is this?!?!?! (I actually think it is gorgeous - esp in the mountains, but it is just kinda ironic.) Most of it has melted so far and the temperatures should be back to normal soon (mid 60's) - just in time for us to get used to WI winters again... oh well.

Work has been going pretty well for both of us. I (Patty) am really looking forward to the "break" I have coming up next week!!! We are planning to leave next Wednesday (Dec 5th) and make a bee-line to Michigan for Joey & Bethany's wedding. After that, Phil will be flying home to finish up the last 2 weeks of school and I will be wandering around Wisconsin, visiting friends and family! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please pray that our car will stay in one piece to MI/WI and back.

Even though my spanish hasn't really improved, we are getting more connected at the chapel and really enjoying it!. We have started a Bible study for the young people on Tuesday nights and it is amazing! It has been such a blessing for me and also very encouraging to see the young people get more involved and really want to be who God wants them to be! Please pray that we would all desire to continue to grow and love more each day!
