Baking Substitution

Do you ever run out of eggs, but you need to bake some cookies, yet don't feel like going to the grocery store just for eggs??? Well, if that ever happens (and you don't have a chicken in the back yard to lay some fresh eggs), substitute CORNSTARCH!

1 egg = 2 tablespoons cornstarch

I just made some oatmeal raisin cookies with cornstarch and they turned out great! I also added just a dash of milk so they would have the same consistency, but otherwise, you can't tell that anything is missing. Enjoy :)

We made Challah!

Since Kelly introduced me to tammysrecipes.com, Phil has been wanting me try a challah recipe on her site. Well, today we were really wanting some good homemade bread, so we thought we'd give the challah a try. I really just had to post some pictures cause I really didn't think it would turn out at all, so I was pleasantly surprised! It was delicious out of the oven, especially with some good homemade jam! (though pretty much ANY homemade bread is delicious when it's fresh from the oven!)
