Hello!
Well, I'm not really sure what I'm going to post tonight. Nothing amazing has happened lately - we are just very very super excited about going to portland next week!!!!!! We are both super excited to meet the adorable little Hadley, spend some time with Ray and Kel, and Steve - and see something outdoors that is not brown and thorny!
Things are going well here in the desert... we have been able to carve out lots of time to go hiking lately, which we both love (and it's fun getting more and more people interested as well)! It doesn't hurt that the weather has been absolutely beautiful lately, so it's just nice to be outside doing anything. It is still a little bit of an adjustment for me (Patty), as I am trying to appreciate the desert beauty - catcus, rocks, sand, lots of other plants with thorns, etc - though I do like the mountains, even if they aren't huge, they provide something to hike on and a nice view from the top!

I'm so glad you guys get to be in Portland right now! The weather is nice and all the flowers are starting to come out! I can't wait for you to see our (Steve and my) house! The flowers on the cherry trees in the state buildings' courtyard were just starting to pop out while I was there. Steve says they're beautiful now. Ahh! So cool. I hope you guys get enough time to see Salem in the daylight. If you need directions anywhere, call me or Steve. Love you!! - Kar
